• Landuse Planning (Smart growth, construction in hazard zones, development guidelines and standards in earthquake prone areas)

• Urban planning and design in earthquake prone zones (improvement of old urban structures, location identification for disaster management facilities, etc.)

• Disaster Risk Management and emergency response (Quick damage and loss estimation methods, advanced technologies for emergency response, rules and regulations, etc)

• Geohazards (Lands subsidence, zonations, etc)

• Rock Mechanics and dynamics (Stability of underground spaces, earthquake prediction using high stresses, fault rupture simulation, etc.)

Active Projects

• Development of guidelines and standards for urban planning in earthquake prone zones

• Evaluation of physical and mechanical properties variations of rock masses under high stresses for using in earthquake prediction.

• 2006: Project manager of JICA project in Iran on emergency response in 72 hours after an earthquake in Tehran on behalf of Tehran Disaster Management Organization

• 2005: Coordinator of earthquake studies in Tehran Master Plan

• 2004: Project deputy of JICA Project for comprehensive master plan on urban seismic disaster prevention and management for Tehran on behalf of Tehran Disaster Management Organization.

• 2003: Coordinator of geological investigation project in Imam Khomeini International Airport.
