Engineering Services 

Many of the geotechnical engineering services can be performed in Geotechnical Research Center.
Some of the engineering services are: 

  • Site effects evaluation and presentation of seismic data in level ground for design of structures;

  • Study of behavior of embankment and rock fill dams and underground excavation and tunnels;

  • Preparation of seismic zonation and microzonation maps;

  • Preparation of landslide and liquefaction zonation maps;

  • Study of soil dynamics behavior, liquefaction, landslide and site effects;

  • Geophysical studies (geoseismic and geoelectric);

  • Ambient vibrations studies in foundations and soil structures for estimation of amplitude and frequency content of ground vibrations;

  • Consultant in other fields of geotechnical engineering and geology.

Main Implemented Engineering Services

  • Team of Reviewing Consultant in geotechnical studies of Bushehr nuclear power plant;

  • Geotechnical hazard zonation of Lorestan province;

  • Seismic hazard and seismic geotechnical hazaed zonation of Assaluyeh (910 Hec.Area);

  • Static and Cyclic triaxial tests on fine grained soils of south of Tehran, core materials of Karkheh, Ahar and Masjedsoleiman dam and also on Bushehr nuclear power plant soils;

  • Evaluation of amplitude and frequency content of vibrations induced in machinery foundations of Saipa factory;

  • Seismic hazard studies, site effects analysis and presentation of design spectra for many power plants such as Montazer–ghaem, Fars, Shariaty(in Mashad), Neishaboor and Bonab.

  • Geophysical studies for seismic microzonation of Tehran, Kermanshah and Qazvin and for many dam sites including Gharranghoo (in Hashtrood), Aidoghmoosh (in Mianeh), Ajabshir, Yamchi(in Ardebil) and Vaniar (in Tabriz) also for Khoram-abad silo, Hekmatan cement factory site, Gavkhosb landslide and Astaneh Ashrafieh liquefaction studies;

  • Geotechnical and Geophysical studies of many projects such as Hekmatan cement, Fatemieh university in Qom, Valiasr residential complex in Tabriz, commercial and residential complexes of Qeshm, Zarand power plant and Tarbiat Modares university;
