Geotechnical Laboratory

The advanced Geotechnical Laboratory of IIEES was established in 1991. The main tasks is experimental investigation of soil materials behavior.  This laboratory has been equipped to different soil mechanics and dynamics apparatus and also geophysical (geoseismic and geoelectric) instruments.
The laboratory equipment is as follows:

  • 2 Sets of Cyclic Triaxial Apparatus with 2 extra cells for simultaneous saturation and consolidation of samples;

  • 2 Sets of Static Triaxial Apparatus with 6 extra cells for simultaneous saturation and consolidation of samples;

  • 2 Sets of Geoseismic Equipment;

  • 10 Sets of One-Dimensional Consolidation Apparatus with loading capacity of 12.8 kgf/cm2 and 1 Set with loading capacity of 64 kgf/cm2;

  • 2 Sets of Uniaxial Static Apparatus;

  • 3 Sets of Direct Shear Apparatus;

  • 2 Sets of Triaxial Resonant Column Apparatus;

  • Standard Penetration Test equipment;

  • Plate Loading Test equipment;

  • Geo-Electric equipment.
