Educational-Researching Activities

For achievement to results of training, public education department of IIEES studies and researches about training to recognize strength and weak points, and also helps to find useful and effective guidance. Training evaluation doing by different way like, questionary, poll, interview, survey and ….

• Woman Activities

This researching was performed during organizing of the second Asian Exhibition of children and adolescent's painting and in addition to their indirect and presence instruction in educational workshops in exhibition. The basic aim of this research was the study of children and adolescent's awareness (before presense instruction) and then the study of effect of earthquake and safety education (after taking part in educational working-shops of exhibition) for checking the proportion of subjects and educational procedures and presenting with infant’s and adolescences characteristic, and their efficiency.
Statistical society of this research were over 602 children, essences into 3 group of (6-8), (9-12), (13-15). Collecting payments were done by questionnaire before and after taking part in educational workshops. Apart from descriptive information, the effect of some factors such as age and former awareness were controlled on learning of statistical people.

The basic subject of this research is the study of infant’s and adolescences awareness about the earthquake and the effect of previous education through their returning in their paintings, also with due attention to special and unique instructional procedures in Iran, a comparison has been performed between Iranian infants and adolescences viewpoints to each other and their coerals in Asian countries in match. This research has been organized from 1944 Iranian paintings, and 908 sent foreign’s painting for taking part in exhibition. That has been controlled based on general indexes. This indexes includes:
The infants and adolescences ability for knowing and distinction of earthquake subject to the rest of natural phenomenons.
The mental observation of children and adolescences about the earthquake. 
The source of previous awareness from the earthquake and its effects. Awareness from probable earthquake hazards. Awareness from ability's measure and quality of reducing earthquake hazards..
 

The study of reactions and people's awareness to the earthquake in 1997 Ardebil earthquake

This research has been done in order to study of awareness and preparedness of injured people of this city of the earthquake phenomenon and their informational needs in this field based on theoretical & practical point of view and access to the most suitable procedure of safety education in mentioned region. In this research inhabitant’s opinion about seismic villages in Ardebil after an earthquake in 10 Esfand of 1375 have been studied. Polling of village’s inhabitants has been done in order to informing of their awareness of being seismicity of region, their necessary needs, behaviour during an earthquake and also selecting the most suitable instructional procedures for educator of safety points. The statistical sampling of this research were 670, that included 525 men and 145 women from 23 seismic villages of this province. In this research connection between acquisition based on sexuality has been studied with their operation during an earthquake and also injured people needs, exactly three weeks after occurring. Then on the basis of obtained results have been propounded the most suitable educational media based on injured people according to preference.
Totally, the obtained results of this research emphasises on necessity of public education about the earthquake, with due attention to region’s seismicity, that of course, it is better to perform the education with emphasising on structural simple recommendations at the first stage and non-structural safety recommendations.

Women Activities

International Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Seismology organized a gathering by the name of women’s important role in reducing earthquake hazards. With presence of a number of authorities and women that have executive responsibilities with due attention to Iran’s seismicity position and necessity of increasing public awareness in the field of prevention and earthquake preparedness and reducing dangers and also cooperation of all society’s groups specially, women that have important and undeniable role in management of family and constructiveness and development of safe society against this phenomenon dated Mehr 1374 and contemporary with the week of reducing effects of natural calamities. Following this for educating country’s women a council as high council of planning of women’s role in reducing earthquake hazards was organized at the second session of this council its internal code in 4 article and 1 note, was approved.

Purpose:

The purpose of organizing this council is assigning different dimensions of woman’s role in reducing dangers, planning and propagation of safety culture and earthquake hazard prevention in the society. This council consists 14 professors and authorities.

Activities:

The activities of this council by now have been the settlement of agreement’s of cooperation between this institute and parent-teachers associations, so as public education of earthquake should be performed for country’s women by Institute through parent-teachers associations by meeting’s selected agents in Institute. The Institute undertakes the preparation of video programs and booklet, scientific and Instructional subjects, presenting educational classes and preparing the plan of angel’s group. (Liaison and institute’s interested women and meeting) and yearly evaluating of these activities. Meeting has undertaken to consider safety education in its yearly programmes and to cooperate in distribution of tapes, pamphlets booklets and instructional procedures and editing the scientific and educational subjects of reducing earthquake hazards in meeting’s publications and controlling the correct operations of liaison angel’s group in cooperation with Institute.

The Angel Group Plan:

Among women or mothers who are members of parent-teachers association interested people in subject are selected by voting, as liaison angels. The majority of these people will be connectors between Institute and meeting and under instructions of institute, they will submit educational booklets to women and student’s parent. Also, these women in their region can be publicator of safety culture in the society and an encourager for creating of regional formations for safety measures of residence.

The first gathering of studying women’s role in programme of reducing earthquake hazards:

One of the other activities of this Institute is disposing of the first gathering for studying the women’s role in programmes of reducing earthquake hazards, that was organized with presence of administrator women, thoughtful and the rest authorities, dated Mehr 1376. Again in gathering’s statement, participants emphasized on necessity of women’s education about natural incidents and also instructional role of medias specially sound and visage and woman’s communicational media in education affair and was requested to consider some days for women’s gathering for exchanging their viewpoints and experiments in the field of reducing natural incident’s dangers specially the earthquake. (The whole articles of this gathering have been regulated and edited by this Institute).

Activities in process of performance:

Other activities of this Institute is preparing some educational film of Angle’s group, special educational booklets for women and preparing educational brochures (the operations before, during and after an earthquake).
