Developing Regional Cooperation Between IIEES and APDIM

On Monday, September 8, 2025, a joint meeting was held between the directors, deputies, and managers of the International Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Seismology (IIEES) and the Asian and Pacific Centre for the Development of Disaster Information Management (APDIM).

According to the IIEES Public Relations Office, the meeting began with the presentations by  Dr. Ansari (Deputy of Research and Education at IIEES) and Dr. Firoozi (Head of International Relation at IIEES), who outlined the institute's capabilities and expertise in areas related to disaster risk reduction and management. They also introduced several joint projects previously conducted in collaboration with international organizations.

Following this, Ms. Rossano, Director of the APDIM Office, outlined the center’s recent activities and highlighted potential areas for scientific, research, and educational collaboration with IIEES at the regional level. Strategies for strengthening information networks and promoting knowledge exchange in the fields of disaster management and resilience were also discussed.

Later in the program, the visiting delegation toured the institute’s seismology network and structural engineering laboratory, gaining firsthand insight into its specialized infrastructure and capabilities in earthquake monitoring, analysis, and advanced structural dynamic testing.
