The International Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Seismology (IIEES) is a comprehensive research and educational center whose main goal is to mitigate seismic risks in Iran and in near and middle east through the promotion of research and education in the field of science and technology related to seismotectonic, seismology, seismography, earthquake prediction, earthquake engineering, risk management and earthquake vulnerability.<\/p>

With the aim of sharing the knowledge and technology in the field of earthquake science and engineering and introducing the capabilities of researchers in the form of presenting articles, holding panels and specialized courses, and a side exhibition of hardware and software equipment, IIEES has held SEE conferences every four years from May 1991 till now in a continuous effort to gather ideas and plans for solving the needs of the country and the region, successfully fulfilled its inherent organizational responsibility.<\/p>

The history of SEE conferences shows that the first conference (SEE1) was held on May 27-29, 1991 with 193 papers from 30 countries, SEE2 was held on May 15-17, 1995 with 199 papers from 35 countries, SEE3 in 1999 with 197 papers from 37 countries, SEE4 on May 14-16, 2003 with 241 papers from 34 countries, SEE5 in 2007 with 550 papers from 45 countries, SEE6 was held in 2011 with 567 papers from 23 countries, SEE7 was held in 2015 with the acceptance of 616 papers out of a total of 875 papers received from 41 countries, and finally SEE8, held in accordance with the second anniversary of the great Sarpol-e Zahab 7.4 magnitude earthquake, on November 11-13, 2019 with the acceptance of 579 articles from 13 countries.<\/p>

By holding SEE conferences, IIEES hopes to bring together more scientists and researchers in the fields of earthquake science and engineering and turn this international event into an outstanding scientific and cultural event. In this regard, the 9th International Conference on Seismology and Earthquake Engineering (SEE9) will be held in Tehran on May 6-8, 2024.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
